Liberation of the Blood

Coiling and curving of viens carrying life and breath,
Connecting of souls and spirits that never part.

Slicing and splitting the smooth surface of the scalp,
Roots of the crimson trees reaching deep towards the heart.

Smeared and stained eyes and lips,
The welcome salty stings and pink glistening teeth.

Narrowing and distant is the awakened kiss,
Clouds in the sky sway and dance away with the skins heat.

Dulling and sickening throbbing from head to bowels,
Weight and time become one and begin to fade.

Elation and fear merge into the whole,
Horizons of hope and releasing of warmth -

Completing the liberation of blood.
